Accenture Opens New Technology Delivery Center in Pune, India, for Software Outsourcing and Systems Integration Services

New Facility Is Accenture’s Ninth Delivery Center in India

PUNE, India; June 01, 2006 – Accenture has launched a technology delivery center in Pune, India, for software outsourcing and systems integration services. The facility is Accenture’s ninth delivery center in India and represents further expansion of the company’s Global Delivery Network.

The new delivery center will provide application outsourcing and systems integration services across the full range of technology capabilities. The center will develop capabilities in enterprise technologies such as SAP and Siebel; Net-centric technologies like Java and Microsoft; business intelligence and testing.

Accenture plans to hire technology graduates and IT professionals with skills in these areas for its center. By August, the facility will have a capacity of 1600 seats.

The Pune delivery center is Accenture’s fifth city presence in India, joining others in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Mumbai, which together serve more than 200 Accenture clients. Through its Global Delivery Network, Accenture has grown its headcount in India significantly over the past three years, from fewer than 4,000 in 2003 to more than 17,500.

“This new facility in Pune will support our growth plans in India, which is a key node in Accenture’s Global Delivery Network,” said Karl-Heinz Floether, Accenture’s group chief executive for Technology & Delivery. “Our employees here in Pune will work seamlessly with their colleagues around the world – sharing the same training, methodology and tools to ensure consistent, high-quality services for our clients.”

Accenture’s Global Delivery Network comprises more than 44,000 people, including local Accenture professionals working at client sites around the world, and more than 40 delivery centers in over 30 countries throughout Asia, Europe and the Americas.
