Accenture Launches Innovation Center for Oracle Solutions in India

BANGALORE, India; March 28, 2006 – Accenture has launched the Accenture Innovation Center for Oracle Solutions in Bangalore, India, to develop a portfolio of assets including tools, accelerators, and diagnostics for Oracle’s application software. The new center is designed to enable faster and more cost-effective implementation of Oracle’s solutions for Accenture’s clients globally.

Professionals in the new innovation center will leverage service-oriented architectures to design and build solutions based on Oracle’s latest technologies, including the Oracle Applications Framework for self-service Web applications and will also help clients implement advanced modules in functional areas such as supply chain management and customer relationship management.

The innovation center will also develop solutions based on Oracle’s Fusion middleware, which is a portfolio of standards-based software products including J2EE and developer tools, as well as integration, business intelligence, collaboration and content management services. In addition, the center will offer industry-specific solutions using Oracle’s recently acquired Retek product suite for retail companies.

“We have been working with Oracle for more than 15 years to deliver solutions to our clients that have a positive impact on their businesses,” said Jim Hayes, managing director of Accenture’s global Oracle practice. “We established this Accenture innovation center in India to focus on developing Oracle solutions because we believe we can quickly bring innovation and value to our clients.”

“Accenture’s delivery center in India has developed and implemented Oracle-based solutions in virtually all industries,” said Chet Kamat, managing director of Accenture’s delivery center network in India. “We have tripled the headcount of our Oracle practice over the last three years and continue to see strong demand for our services. The fact that a significant number of future assets in the Oracle applications space for Accenture globally will be developed in India is a clear proof of the scale and maturity we have achieved here and is a key driver for the opening of the innovation center.”

Accenture has the fastest-growing Oracle enterprise solutions practice among full-service integrators, with more than 18,600 professionals around the world qualified to provide implementation, upgrade and application outsourcing solutions for the entire Oracle product suite.
