Accenture Completes Acquisition of Savista’s Business Process Outsourcing Assets
Acquisition Expands Accenture’s BPO Capabilities into the Middle Market
NEW YORK; April 3, 2006 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has completed the acquisition of key assets of Savista, expanding Accenture’s range of bundled, back-office business process outsourcing (BPO) capabilities to include those designed specifically for the middle market.
Savista established itself as the de facto source for human resources and finance outsourcing solutions for the hospitality industry and has been moving quickly to capture opportunities in the financial services and high technology sectors. The acquisition of these BPO capabilities will enable Accenture to expand its client base in a lucrative and growing market, which is estimated by industry analysts to grow to more than $25 billion by 2009.
As a result of the acquisition, approximately 400 Savista professionals have joined a newly established Accenture business, Accenture BPO Services, Solutions for the Middle Market. The addition of Accenture BPO Services brings the total number of Accenture professionals performing BPO work to more than 18,000. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
"IDC is seeing increased demand in the midmarket for BPO services," said Lisa Rowan, IDC’s program manager for HR and Talent Management services research. "According to a recent IDC study on midmarket BPO, 52 percent of survey respondents claimed to be engaged in some form of BPO, with HR and F&A being the two key business processes outsourced. The next logical step for them will be to broaden and coalesce services on a single platform or provider. This acquisition launches Accenture to the top one or two positions in midmarket BPO."
“With this acquisition, middle-market companies can take advantage of the world-class BPO platform, solutions and segment expertise of the new Accenture BPO Services unit combined with the deep BPO experience and global delivery capabilities of Accenture,” said Kevin Campbell, global managing director of Accenture’s BPO organization. “We welcome our new colleagues and look forward to expanding our offerings to an additional set of clients.”
Jeff Bizzack, the former CEO of Savista who has been appointed CEO of Accenture BPO Services said, “We are sharply focused on further improving the value proposition we offer clients by delivering high value-added solutions that help mid-market companies grow and manage their businesses more profitably.”
