Accenture Announces Two New Federal Contracts

Federal government practice to assist with DOJ’s debt-collection and DHS EAGLE program

RESTON, VA – Sept. 12, 2006 – Accenture was recently awarded two separate contracts with the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security.

U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ)
Accenture was awarded a contract encompassing a multi-year base period and eight option periods to deliver a new integrated debt collection system to DOJ and all of its component organizations, including the U.S. Attorneys Offices and the department’s tax and litigation divisions and offices of the CFO and CIO. Under the terms of the agreement, Accenture also will provide operations and maintenance of the deployed system throughout the life of the contract. If all options are exercised and additional services purchased under the indefinite delivery-indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) portion of the contract, the contract value is estimated to be $54 million. By consolidating multiple legacy collection systems into a single integrated system, Accenture will enable the Justice Department – the U.S. federal government’s collector of last resort – to improve communications and reporting, provide better financial controls, and enhance data integrity.

U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
DHS awarded Accenture a five-year, multiple award, indefinite delivery-indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract for two of five functional categories for its Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge Solutions (EAGLE) program. EAGLE will serve as the DHS department-wide vehicle for acquiring information technology services over the next five years. Functional Category 4 – Software Development includes, but is not limited to, the full range of software design, development, systems integration, implementation and integration. Functional Category 5 – Management Support Services includes, but is not limited to, enterprise architecture planning, enterprise resource management, business process reengineering, IT transformation and strategy, organizational change leadership, training, security, and program management office support.

“We are proud that Federal agencies consistently turn to Accenture to help modernize their systems and processes, and ultimately increase the value they deliver to citizens,” said Steve Shane, managing director of Accenture’s U.S. Government operating unit.
