Accenture and Avanade Honored as Microsoft Partners
Companies Win 2006 Global Enterprise Partner of the Year Special Recognition Award and Accenture Receives Regional Microsoft Partner Award
NEW YORK; July 20, 2006 – Accenture and Avanade have been honored by Microsoft with its 2006 Global Enterprise Partner of the Year Special Recognition Award. Accenture was also selected as a regional winner of the Microsoft Partner Awards Program. The awards were presented last week at the annual Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference in Boston. Accenture is the only Microsoft partner that has won the Global Enterprise award three times.
Accenture and Avanade were selected out of an international field of top Microsoft partners because of their demonstrated leadership in developing and delivering enterprise-class solutions based on the Microsoft platform, global presence, growth of the alliance relationship and joint business wins. Winners of this special recognition award are chosen based on positive feedback from Microsoft’s worldwide Enterprise & Partner Group and Industry Partner Leads.
Accenture was also selected as a regional winner of the Microsoft Partner Awards Program for its work with the London Stock Exchange in building Infolect™, the fastest real-time information delivery system of any exchange in the world. The regional award recognizes companies that deliver exceptional customer solutions built on Microsoft technology. The London Stock Exchange’s Infolect system was built on the Microsoft.NET Framework and was launched by the Exchange in October 2005. The system currently broadcasts more than 12 million messages a day to 100,000 customer terminals receiving real-time Exchange market data, which is viewed in over 100 countries. Accenture and Avanade collaborated with the Exchange on the implementation of the Microsoft .NET Framework.
Seeing a demand for technical expertise on the Microsoft platform, Accenture and Microsoft jointly formed an independent private company called Avanade in March 2000. Together, the three companies have collaborated on more than 1,500 projects for more than 1,000 business and government organizations worldwide to help them improve their performance through solutions built on Microsoft technologies.
