Accenture to Help CNOOC Implement ERP System

BEIJING; Aug. 24, 2005 – China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) and Accenture have signed a multi-year agreement under which Accenture will help CNOOC develop and implement an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system based on SAP’s R/3 ERP solution. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

CNOOC is implementing the ERP system to increase efficiency, reduce operational costs and improve business performance.

In addition to helping develop and implement the ERP system, Accenture will provide support to integrate CNOOC’s existing information technology systems as well as help enhance its human resource, finance and logistics capabilities.

“We are confident that Accenture’s experience in ERP implementation and its global petrochemical industry knowledge will provide us with a flexible information technology system that will help us mitigate risk as we continue to grow,” said Luo Han, vice-president of CNOOC.

“With a sophisticated ERP system, CNOOC will be better positioned to achieve its goals of becoming a global oil and gas player,” said Gong Li, Chairman of Accenture Greater China and managing partner of Accenture’s Resources practice in the Asia Pacific region.
