Accenture Selected To Provide Applications Development Services for ABN AMRO

Accenture Among Top Vendors to Support the Bank’s IT Organization

AMSTERDAM; Sept. 1, 2005 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has signed a five-year contract with ABN AMRO, a leading global bank headquartered in the Netherlands, to bid for the bank’s applications development work worldwide. The agreement further extends the 20-year relationship between the companies.

Under the contract, Accenture is among five preferred vendors that will have the opportunity to submit bids for the bank’s global application development projects. The agreement is part of ABN AMRO’s Group Shared Services Information Technology (IT) initiative, under which the bank is seeking to improve the performance of all its IT services and achieve significant efficiencies by further streamlining its global IT organization.

As part of the agreement, Accenture will bid for software development projects that support ABN AMRO’s strategic business units in Europe, North America and Brazil.

Accenture was selected based on its industry and business-specific knowledge and experience, its global delivery network and its credentials and track record of success on similar large-scale projects.

“ABN AMRO is a long-standing, valued client of Accenture,” said David O’Brien, a partner in Accenture’s Financial Services practice involved in the deal. “We look forward to leveraging the knowledge we have gained through teaming with the bank on previous strategic consulting, IT and outsourcing initiatives to help them accomplish their objectives of increased efficiency and growth.”
