William D. Green Assumes CEO Role at Accenture
NEW YORK; Sept. 1, 2004 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) today announced that William D. Green has assumed the role of chief executive officer of the company, effective today. Accenture announced in April 2004 that Mr. Green would become CEO on Sept. 1, 2004.
Mr. Green, who most recently served as Accenture’s chief operating officer–Client Services, succeeds Joe W. Forehand as CEO. Mr. Forehand retains the title of chairman.
Mr. Green, 51, has significant experience as a member of Accenture’s senior management team. As Accenture’s chief operating officer–Client Services, he had overall management responsibility for the company’s operating groups, which are the industry-focused groups through which Accenture serves clients around the world. He has been a member of Accenture’s board of directors since 2001. Mr. Green also served as country managing director for the United States from August 2000 through August 2004.
During his 26-year career at Accenture, Mr. Green has held executive positions in most of the company’s operating groups. He joined Accenture in 1977 and became a partner in 1986.
