Accenture to Provide Applications Management and Development Services to EMS
Two Companies Also Announce Alliance to Co-Develop and Market Gas- and Liquids-Measurement Solutions
HOUSTON; Nov. 15, 2004 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has signed an agreement to provide EMS Pipeline Services (EMS), a leading pipeline operations and maintenance service provider, with applications management and software development services on an outsourced basis. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Under the agreement, Accenture will provide services for the support, testing and developing of EMS’ suite of gas-measurement software products. The systems will be built leveraging EMS’ PGAS product, the widely accepted standard in natural gas measurement systems, and will be designed to help pipeline owners simplify the management of data from electronic flow measurement and SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) systems to reduce costs related to lost and unaccounted-for gas, improve compliance with government regulations, and increase operational efficiency.
