Accenture Establishes Guangzhou Office to Maximize Opportunities in South China

GUANGZHOU, China; Nov. 8, 2004 – Accenture today announced the opening of an office in Guangzhou, expanding its presence in Southern China. The new office will enhance Accenture’s ability to support multinationals and local enterprises in one of China’s most economically dynamic regions.

Accenture’s Guangzhou office marks another milestone in Accenture’s history in China. Accenture has maintained operations in mainland China for over 10 years, with offices in Beijing and Shanghai, and over the last two years established technology and business process outsourcing delivery centers and shared services centers in Shanghai and Dalian.

The new office will leverage Guangzhou’s high-quality local workforce to enhance Accenture’s expertise and capabilities in the region. With additional offices in Taipei and Hong Kong, Accenture has a large local network through which it offers its management consulting, technology and outsourcing expertise to clients in Greater China. Accenture currently has more than 1,600 professionals in Greater China.

"The Guangzhou office reflects our deep commitment to China, which continues to be an important market for Accenture," said Mr. Gong Li, Accenture’s Chairman for China. "It has been a great privilege for us to be a part of China’s phenomenal success over the past decade, as our footprint has grown with the country’s economy."

The market and business opportunities in Southern China, the third-largest economic zone in mainland China, have been growing tremendously. Accenture’s clients in the area include the state government, large local enterprises, regional companies and multi-national corporations across a wide variety of industries.

Mr. Li emphasized that with the growing economic tides between Hong Kong and Southern China, Accenture’s Hong Kong office will continue to be an important resource in providing talent and industry skills to the Guangzhou office. "Accenture is well positioned in the South China market to help companies become more innovative and high-performing," he said.
