Accenture Gains New Outsourcing and IT Services Contracts in Switzerland

Acquisition of Systor’s Assets Enhances Accenture’s Outsourcing Capabilities and Doubles Size of Swiss Operations

ZURICH; March 24, 2003 Accenture announced today that the conditions of its contract to acquire key assets of Systor, a Swiss provider of information technology (IT) services and solutions, have been met and that it has now assumed some of Systor’s key client contracts.

Accenture’s agreement with Systor, announced Feb. 6, 2003, was contingent upon Swiss regulatory approval and the successful transfer to Accenture of some of Systor’s key client contracts. These conditions have been met, and beginning Mar. 21, 2003, Accenture will perform the services and fulfill the obligations under several of the client contracts.

The new Accenture contracts are with leading companies and organizations, including several existing Accenture clients. The contracts cover a range of IT services, including outsourcing, application engineering, application management and banking software solutions. The outsourcing contracts represent Accenture’s first outsourcing engagements in Switzerland.

"Companies must focus on developing those aspects of their business that truly differentiate them from the competition,” said Ralf Naef, country managing director of Accenture in Switzerland. “Through our expanded capabilities in business consulting, information technology and outsourcing, we are well positioned to collaborate with our clients to help them improve their cost structures and grow their businesses.”

Accenture has begun to integrate the majority of Systor’s former employees into its operations, preserving approximately 500 Swiss jobs and more than doubling Accenture’s local workforce.
