Accenture and Woodside Energy Join Forces in a Co-Sourcing Arrangement To Develop Perth-Based SAP Centre of Excellence

Accenture and Woodside Sign Agreement to Jointly Deliver SAP Applications Management and Development Capability

PERTH; March 26, 2003 Accenture today announced it has signed an AUD$30 million (US$16.8m) co-sourcing agreement with Woodside Technical Services Pty Ltd to establish a SAP applications management and development centre based in Perth, Australia.

As part of the five-year deal, the companies will deliver SAP applications management, development and hosting services to Woodside Energy Limited and other customers in Western Australia and the Northern Territory, as well as to oil and gas companies in the wider Asia Pacific region. The innovative agreement provides incentives for both parties, with opportunities for reward based on cost savings and benefits achieved.

”This is an exciting day for Woodside as this agreement will transform the way we approach our SAP management capability needs. It will increase our operational efficiency and reduce our operational costs and will provide similar opportunities for other customers of the Centre of Excellence” said Andrew Maiden, Woodside’s Director of Shared Services.

“Accenture’s ability to blend business experience with low cost development and management capabilities has helped many clients transform the way they approach their business processes. It’s a model we have been using successfully with many clients by leveraging our global delivery centre network, and this agreement further endorses this approach as a way of delivering superior value to our clients,” said Wayne Schachtel, Managing Partner of the Resources Operating Group in Australia.

“We believe that the Centre of Excellence will provide both Woodside and our Asia Pacific clients with an opportunity to reduce costs while receiving high quality technology required to successfully manage their business. We are looking forward to working closely with Woodside and helping them realise cost reduction targets and achieve significant process improvements,” said Mr Schachtel.

The Perth-based Centre of Excellence was launched in December with approximately 40 Perth-based IT professionals.

This agreement complements Accenture’s growing outsourcing business in Australia and Asia Pacific, particularly in the oil, gas, and chemicals sector.

Accenture announced in June 2001 that it signed a six-year outsourcing agreement with Goro Nickel S.A, which involved establishing a center in Brisbane and has been successfully managing for many years the technology requirements of its Asia Pacific clients from its Melbourne Delivery Centre.
