Seven-Year Outsourcing Deal: Accenture Wins Contract to Provide Financial Operations to Resort Condominiums International Europe

LONDON; April 26, 2002 Accenture will manage and operate a number of financial operations for Resort Condominiums International, LLC (RCI) Europe, a leading timeshare service provider, under the terms of a seven-year Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) agreement announced today by the two companies.

The agreement enables RCI Europe to sharpen its focus on its core timeshare business by freeing it from day-to-day management of essential -- but non-strategic -- functions of payroll and accounting. Under the agreement, approximately 65 RCI Europe professionals will become employees of Accenture, working to support RCI Europe’s finance and accounting operations in Benelux, Finland, France, Greece, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Scandinavia, Spain, Turkey and the U.K. The team will continue to work in Kettering, U.K., but will function as a satellite operation of Accenture’s Delivery Centre in Bedford.

The Bedford facility is one of 40 in the global network Accenture Delivery Centres that provide outsourcing and technology solutions and services. Multiple clients are served at the Delivery Centres, providing economies of scale that increase efficiencies and effectiveness through use of repeatable solutions, processes, methods and tools as well as access to highly specialized staff.

"We’re looking forward to helping RCI Europe continue to grow and enhance its competitive position through an innovative approach to managing financial operations," said Peter Blackadder, partner, Accenture Travel & Transportation industry group. "By tapping into our network of Delivery Centres, RCI Europe will be able to use new services and shared solutions that would be far more costly to acquire as an individual company."

"Our aim is to maximize the service effectiveness within Finance Operations, and forming a relationship with Accenture will enable us to achieve this goal. Ultimately, RCI’s members and clients will benefit from the planned improvements," said Brendan Hall, Financial Controller, RCI Europe.
