KLM, Accenture Join Forces to Increase Speed and Efficiency of KLM IT Systems

AMSTERDAM, Jan. 21, 2002 – KLM and Accenture today announced a long-term, strategic agreement to develop and maintain Web-enabled information systems for KLM. This arrangement is aimed at helping KLM improve the cost and time to market for the development of applications, as well as enhancing the quality the company’s information systems.

This “co-sourcing” arrangement follows KLM’s business strategy to enhance its execution power and to better prepare for today’s fast changing environment. This multi-year initiative will be supported by a dedicated IT delivery unit comprised of KLM and Accenture employees. Working closely together, the two organizations will combine their skills and expertise to help generate tangible business results for KLM. Specifically, Accenture professionals will bring deep technology and systems development skills and industry knowledge; KLM will focus on current business processes, legacy systems, infrastructure and computer operations.
