Accenture Bolsters Technology and Systems Implementation Capabilities in Japan

Company Expands Solution Delivery Centre in Kachidoki

TOKYO; April 22, 2002 Broadening its core offerings in technology and systems implementation, Accenture today announced the expansion of its solutions delivery centre in Kachidoki, Japan.

Plans call for the Kachidoki facility to offer Japanese clients a wider choice of technology services with a focus on software development and implementation for such enterprise applications as SAP, Siebel, Oracle and PeopleSoft and specialty software such as Retek for retailers.

The facility will also house engineers and programmers who design, test and build enterprise solutions and Web services based on Microsoft and Java platforms. Current plans call for up to 100 engineers and programmers to be hired by the end of 2003.

The Kachidoki centre joins a global network of more than 40 facilities that offer clients a full range of services – from business transformation outsourcing to system design, implementation and application management. The expansion of the center is part of Accenture’s strategy of offering a seamless approach to solutions delivery across the globe.

“Our solutions delivery centre in Kachidoki gives Accenture another reliable and cost-effective development environment,” said James Hall, managing partner, Technology and Research. “We want to continually offer our clients a richer portfolio of technology and outsourcing solutions. Now we can quickly and efficiently bring a new range of solutions to clients who operate in Japan.”

“With the solutions delivery center in Kachidoki, Accenture expands its technology implementation services in Japan,” said Masakatsu Mori, country managing director. “Customers in Japan already know Accenture for its business consulting expertise – now they have another cost-effective choice when they need to design, build and manage their enterprise technology.”
