Accenture Announces Senior Executive Appointments

Management Changes Focused on Enhancing Strategic Execution to Provide Advanced Client Solutions

NEW YORK; March 14, 2002 Accenture (NYSE: ACN) today announced several senior executive appointments that will enhance the execution of the company’s strategy and the effectiveness of its operating model, providing clients with advanced business solutions.

Among the key appointments are the following:

Gregg Hartemayer has been named group chief executive of the Technology & Outsourcing capability group. The group comprises three service lines: Solutions Engineering, Solutions Operations and Technology Research & Innovation, as well several solution units and Accenture’s Alliances organization. Mr. Hartemayer previously managed the Products operating group.

Tim Breene has been named group chief executive of the Business Consulting capability group. The group consists of five consulting service lines: Customer Relationship Management; Finance & Performance Management; Human Performance; Strategy & Business Architecture, and Supply Chain Management, as well as several solution units focused on improving clients’ business performance. Mr. Breene previously had responsibility for all service lines and the Alliances organization. Mr. Breene will also assume the responsibilities of chief strategy officer, leading Accenture’s Growth & Strategy team.

Mark Foster has been named group chief executive of the Products operating group, assuming the previous responsibilities of Mr. Hartemayer. Mr. Foster, who most recently served as managing partner for Products– Europe and has been instrumental in the development of Accenture’s strategy, will also join the Management Committee.

Accenture also named four additional group chief executives: Bill Green in Communications & High Tech; David Hunter in Government; Karl-Heinz Floether in Financial Services, and Mary Tolan in Resources. These executives will continue in the leadership roles they currently hold, but will add the group chief executive title, which the company believes is more relevant to the marketplace.

In addition, the company announced the following changes:

Gill Rider becomes the chief leadership officer. Ms. Rider will place special emphasis on developing the leadership capabilities and professional skills of Accenture’s people, and fostering a culture that encourages diversity and achievement. She has also been named to the Management Committee. Ms. Rider is a former head of the company’s Resources operating unit in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and in Latin America, and a former chair of the United Kingdom/Ireland Geographic Council.

Mike McGrath becomes the chief risk officer. The new role expands Mr. McGrath’s responsibilities as capital risk officer to better assess and manage risk.

Jack Wilson, Accenture’s corporate development officer, will continue to support the operating groups in their business development efforts, and will take on additional responsibilities as chairman of the Capital Committee, replacing Mr. McGrath.

Accenture also established the Office of the CEO, comprised of Mr. Forehand and Steve James, the company’s chief operating officer, who will share responsibilities for all group operations. Mr. Forehand will work with the group chief executives on growth, strategy and strategic execution issues. Mr. James will work with the group chief executives and Ms. Rider on operational issues and the enhancement of performance results. Mr. James will continue to have responsibility for Business Operations, Geographic Services and the CIO Organization, and for Accenture’s geographic units.
