Bowstreet, Sun Microsystems and Accenture Co-Sponsor Free Seminar Series to Help Companies Leverage Web Services

High-intensity half-day events to help companies achieve “economies of scale” in e-business

LYNNFIELD, MA and PALO ALTO, CA, May 15, 2001 – Bowstreet (www.bowstreet.com), Sun Microsystems and Accenture today announced that they are co-sponsoring a series of free, half-day seminars to teach attendees how to maximize the efficiency of their e-business initiatives. E-business experts from the three companies, as well as BusinessWeek magazine, will discuss how a “smart” web services platform can help companies assemble, customize, deliver and manage a new class of dynamic, web-native applications that are open, standards-based and interoperable for optimal growth and flexibility.

Titled “Achieving E-business Economies of Scale: A New Approach for Portals, Storefronts, Wireless and Supply Chain Initiatives,” the free, five-city seminar tour will commence in Santa Clara, Calif. on May 22 and end in London on June 19.

“This series of high-intensity events is designed to help companies bulletproof their e-business strategies by converging them on a single platform,” Bowstreet President and CEO Bob Crowley explained. “We’re targeting the frontline e-business professionals who are implementing critical programs such as portals, wireless systems, supply chain initiatives and more. They’re struggling to support large numbers of complex initiatives and we have specific recommendations that will make them more effective in their jobs.”

“Sun is working with companies like Bowstreet to help customers develop ‘smart’ web services architectures that dynamically increase the speed, flexibility and effectiveness of e-business,” explained Shahram Moradpour, director, Internet Infrastructure Market Development, Sun Microsystems. “These web services complement the Sun™ Open Net Environment (Sun ONE) architecture which provides an open, extensible way to create, assemble and deploy web services.”

Accenture and Bowstreet recently announced an alliance to deliver e-business solutions to financial services organizations worldwide.
