Yahoo! and Accenture Team Up to Deliver Customized Corporate Portals
NEW YORK and SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Dec. 13, 2000 -"Accenture and Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq: YHOO) today announced an alliance to deliver customized corporate portal solutions leveraging Yahoo!’s enterprise information portal, Corporate Yahoo!. Based on the widely-used My Yahoo!® (http//my.yahoo.com) interface, Corporate Yahoo! enables companies to integrate proprietary corporate content and applications with Yahoo!’s personalized Internet content and services securely behind existing firewalls
Through its Human Performance practice, Accenture delivers customized knowledge management solutions to clients in virtually every industry. This new alliance will help Accenture to offer Corporate Yahoo! as a component of select knowledge management solutions to clients that want to meet the information needs and enhance the capabilities of their employees in the digital economy.
Corporate Yahoo! enterprise solutions deployed under the alliance will help large-scale organizations and start-ups alike accelerate their ability to respond to customer and business needs by giving their employees instant access to tailored knowledge and information from both internal and external sources. The alliance will enhance Accenture’s ability to deliver portal integration delivery services and help Yahoo! expand its enterprise services and accelerate installation and deployment for its customers.

Prior Experience Delivering Portal Solutions Earlier this year, Accenture and Yahoo! announced a contract with the North Carolina state government, in conjunction with BellSouth, to develop NC @ Your Service (http://www.ncgov.com), a site that offers a common entry point to three separate portals: one for businesses, one for state employees, and one for citizens. Using the Corporate Yahoo! platform and the business integration services of Accenture, North Carolina was able to quickly integrate its government content and services with Yahoo!’s Internet content and services to provide citizens with access to motor vehicle registration renewal and state fair tickets as well as Yahoo!’s local weather, mail and calendar services. NC @ Your Service received Government Technology magazine’s 2000 "Best of the Web" award signifying excellence in Internet-based initiatives among state governments nationwide.
