Siam Cement Group Joins Forces with Accenture to Form IT Joint Venture

Bangkok (26-10-2000) – Siam Cement Group is teaming up with Accenture, the leading global consulting company, to set up a joint venture to provide information technology (IT) and eCommerce services to enhance Siam Cement Group’s IT capabilities and competitiveness, and be ready to serve the external market in the future.

"By strengthening our IT and eCommerce capabilities in our operations and reinforcing our IT human resources, Siam Cement Group aims to be more competitive in the world market. The Group therefore decided to team up with Accenture, which has a great deal of experience and resources in this area," said Mr. Chumpol.

The joint venture will provide integrated services for the development of IT and eCommerce strategy, IT business support within the Siam Cement Group, concentrating on world class Web Based Applications, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Supply Chain Management, Customer Relationship Management, and eCommerce. The joint venture will leverage on Accenture’s worldwide network to expand this services beyond Siam Cement Group in the future.

Initially, the venture will focus on enhancing the Group’s IT operations, and training and developing personnel to ensure a smooth transition. Additional Accenture specialists will be provided to implement changes and develop the new venture into a world class IT services organization.
