Accenture Names 1,288 New Partners Worldwide

Doubles Number of Partners in Most Parts of the World

NEW YORK, August 30, 2000 - Accenture today announced that it named 1,288 new partners to the firm, effective September 1. The addition of these new partners will bring the Accenture partnership around the world to approximately 2,600 - almost doubling the number of partners in most parts of the world. The firm also announced the appointment of 403 associate partners. Of the 1,288 partners, 631 are based in the Americas, 526 in Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa and 131 in the Asia/Pacific region.

"We are happy to recognize our high performing employees, and allow them to achieve partnership earlier in their careers with the firm," said Joe Forehand, Managing Partner and CEO of Accenture. "These new partners are proven leaders, and have played a vital role in developing our preeminent capabilities for the new economy. As a result, this expansion of our partnership ranks will enhance our position as the world’s leading architect of the new eEconomy.

"Our clients also will benefit as our new partners bring their entrepreneurial skills to existing customer relationships," continued Forehand. "We believe the expanded partnership enhances our ability to create unmatched solutions for our clients."

The decision to allow top-performing employees to be admitted to partner much earlier in their careers is one of several recently announced initiatives by Accenture to reward employees and allow them to share in the success of the firm. Earlier this year, the firm also announced the creation of eUnits, a unique method to harness the value of the new eEconomy and reward long-term and high-performing employees financially.

"With this exceptional group of professionals joining the partnership, we will make the most of our new opportunities for growth and greater flexibility," said Forehand. On August 7, an arbitrator for the International Chamber of Commerce granted Accenture’s request to formally separate from the Andersen Worldwide organization. As a result of the ruling, the firm will choose a new name by the end of the year. "The ruling will help us continue to pursue the reinvention of our company, as we create new solutions for our clients in a global economy re-shaped by e-Commerce."
