Accenture and Jenzabar Form Strategic Alliance to Lead Today' Education Institutions into the 21st Century
Suite of Integrated eCommerce Solutions Introduce New Personalized Education, Services Targeted at Professors, Students, Alumni and Prospective Students
Chicago, IL, July 18, 2000 - Accenture, a leading management and technology consulting firm, today announced a global strategic alliance with Jenzabar, a leading provider of personalized eEducation infrastructure products based on web portal technology.
Through this collaborative effort, the two companies will deliver seamless education solutions expected to augment traditional and virtual learning experiences by leveraging the Internet to attract prospects, better educate students, maintain contact with alumni, enhance graduate placement activities and recruit faculty. The alliance also combines Accenture’s highly skilled eCommerce and education industry expertise with Jenzabar’s leading application software platform.
The Jenzabar technology will enable students and faculty at subscribing universities to create their own personalized web learning experience. As a result, they will receive the information they want and need about campus news and events, world news, travel, health, library resources, shopping and recreation on their very own portal page. Likewise, faculty can use the technology to post coursework, class information, conduct tests, publicize office hours and seek consulting opportunities off campus.
These front-end services will be linked to administrative applications that introduce new financial efficiencies, dramatically simplify registration and financial aid application processes, and provide a web-based, self-service means for students to add and drop courses, obtain transcripts and check their account balance.
As a result, these services will create a personalized, integrated educational environment that strengthens the link between institutions and their university communities, with a flexible, scalable solution capable of meeting emerging needs in the new knowledge economy.
"This suite of services will contribute to brand equity of the leading higher learning institutions and strengthen the affinity that alumni feel toward their alma maters at a time when the education industry is experiencing fierce competition and facing historic change, fueled in part by technology and the Internet," said Martin Cole, an Accenture managing partner with the firm’s Global Higher Education and Government practice. "In this environment, the most competitive institutions will need to demonstrate that they are at the cutting edge in this evolving digital world by addressing the needs of their constituents in new ways as part of building stronger brand presence to attract the best faculty, the brightest students and the ongoing support of alumni."
Accenture expertise combined with Jenzabar technology enables educational institutions to offer the services and processes required to build their brand.
"Educational institutions that are serious about competing in the 21st century will benefit greatly from the consulting strength of Accenture and the highly personalized nature of the Jenzabar portal application," said Ling Chai, founder and CEO of Jenzabar. "Together, we are uniquely qualified to help the education marketplace achieve success in delivering a consistently differentiated and personalized education experience."
Accenture will showcase the Jenzabar eEducation platform at the Accenture Public Sector Solution Center in Reston, Va.
