Accenture Delivering New Enterprise Mobility Capabilities to The Colomer Group Based on Sybase® Unwired Platform
Mobility Solutions from Accenture – Based on Co-Innovation Efforts with SAP – Enabling Company to Automate Its Sales Force
MADRID; Nov. 9, 2011
The Colomer Group is implementing an interactive sales force automation tool based on enterprise mobility solutions that are the result of co-innovation efforts by Accenture (NYSE: ACN) and SAP AG (NYSE: SAP), it was announced today at the SAPPHIRE® NOW conference.
The Colomer Group, a hair and beauty products company based in Barcelona, engaged Accenture Mobility Services to enable its sales force with new mobility capabilities. Accenture responded by developing a custom sales force automation tool – built on Sybase® Unwired Platform – with capabilities that will eventually be rolled out to more than 500 sales people at The Colomer Group.
The sales tool is a result of the strategic relationship announced in May when Accenture and SAP said they would be working together to develop, manage, and deploy new enterprise mobility offerings leveraging the Sybase® Unwired Platform. Mobility offerings stemming from this cooperation are now available and being implemented by clients around the globe, according to Accenture.
For The Colomer Group, each salesperson will be equipped with a tablet computer that can perform multiple functions, including displaying a product catalogue that features some items presented in a video format. Special sales promotions are also highlighted. The sales tool also completes order forms, which are sent electronically to The Colomer Group’s systems running SAP® applications and reduces the overall sales processing time while optimizing the work schedule of sales people.
“It’s a fantastic tool for our highly mobile sales team,” said Miguel Angel Tirado, sales and distribution and customer relationship management (CRM) process owner, The Colomer Group. “It optimizes business management with our customers, presents our company and our brands in a crisp, eye-catching format, and harmonizes the selling methodology of our sales force.”
The solution being deployed by The Colomer Group is indicative of the enterprise mobility managed services offered by Accenture. Mobility managed services allow large companies to integrate mobile devices such as tablets and smart phones with existing SAP applications as a service, enabling information access and business transactions from outside the walls of the enterprise — executed with little complexity, minimal setup time and minimal infrastructure requirements at an affordable cost.
“The market has responded enthusiastically to Accenture mobility solutions built on the Sybase® Unwired Platform,” said Mark Willford, global managing director of SAP business, Accenture. “We look forward to continuing to build, deploy and manage new applications to meet the needs of our clients who are increasingly seeking mobile solutions.”
