Black Friday is the new Boxing Day: Canadian consumers see no difference between holiday shopping discount days, Accenture study finds
TORONTO, Oct. 30, 2014 – There is a new U.S. trend that is winning over Canadian shoppers for having the best deals of the holiday season: Black Friday, the day after U.S. Thanksgiving, according to Accenture’s (NYSE:ACN) 2014 holiday shopping survey. The survey revealed that the traditional Canadian holiday of Boxing Day is losing its prominence among consumers for having the best deals of the season, as the popularity of Black Friday shopping has grown since last year.

Accenture Survey Shows 40 percent of North American Consumers Have Used Smartphones to Make a Merchant Payment, Up from 16 Percent in 2012

NEW YORK; October 29, 2014 – Forty percent of North American consumers have used their smartphones to make a payment at a merchant location, according to an Accenture (NYSE: ACN) survey of 4,000 consumers in the U.S. and Canada, up from 16 percent reported in a similar survey two years ago. Millennials and high-income consumers – household income of at least $150,000 – are the most avid adopters, with 52 percent of millennials and 55 percent of high-income consumers having used their phones as a mobile payment device

Eight out of 10 Citizens Believe More Digital Tools Can Improve Police Services, According to New Research by Accenture
ORLANDO, Fla.; Oct.24, 2014 – Eight-out-of-10 citizens surveyed by Accenture (NYSE:ACN) believe expanded use of new and advanced digital tools would improve police services. Specifically, they are comfortable with police officers using: predictive technologies (88 percent), security cameras (83 percent), wearable technologies, such as body-worn cameras, (80 percent) and mobile devices (89 percent).

Businesses in Brazil Making Strong Progress toward Meeting Enterprise Mobility Priorities
Brasília; Oct. 13, 2014 – Businesses in Brazil will invest more in mobility this year and next than other markets around the world, according to the Accenture Mobility Insights Report 2014, a global study of 1,475 executives – 100 of them Brazilian – in 14 countries. Of the C-level executives questioned in Brazil, one-third claimed their business would invest over US$30 million into mobile capabilities, compared to a global average of 24 percent, as they worked to build on the progress already made in meeting their consumer- and enterprise-facing mobility goals.

Satisfaction with Insurance Claims Settlements not Enough to Keep Customers Loyal, According to Accenture's Global Insurance Customer Survey
NEW YORK and LONDON; Oct. 13, 2014  Although a large majority (86 percent) of insurance customers who have submitted a claim in the past two years are satisfied with the way it was handled, 41 percent of those who have submitted a claim are still likely or very likely to switch to another insurer in the next 12 months, according to new research by Accenture (NYSE: ACN). The research is based on a survey of nearly 8,000 automobile and home insurance customers in 14 countries.
