Majority of Students Cite Digital Capabilities and Services at Universities as Key Factor in Higher Education Choice, Accenture Survey Finds
; Nov. 24, 2014 – A large majority of college-bound students (85 percent) said that digital capabilities, such as integration of technology into classrooms, virtual coursework and online classes are a top determinant in choosing which university to attend, according to a five-country survey by Accenture
(NYSE:ACN). The survey of 1,500 students in Australia, India, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States found the strong demand for digital capabilities carried over to students currently attending a university as well as recent graduates, with the majority (70 percent) calling for greater use of digital tools for learning and content delivery.

U.K. Consumers Set to Spend More This Christmas; Majority Plan to Shop on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Accenture Study Finds
Nov. 24, 2014 – Amid signs of greater economic optimism, almost a third of U.K. consumers (31 percent) plan to increase their spending on holiday shopping his year, according to Accenture’s (NYSE:ACN) 2014 Christmas Shopping Survey. The survey indicates that more than a quarter of consumers (27 percent) are planning to spend £250 or more on Christmas shopping than they did in 2013.

U.S. Consumers Believe Bias Trumps Accuracy When Making Medical Decisions, says Accenture Survey
Nov. 12, 2014 – Don’t expect U.S. consumers to look to health insurers as their primary source of information when they have to make medical decisions, a new survey
(NYSE:ACN) indicates. The survey of 2,003 U.S. consumers showed the majority (69 percent) of the respondents believe that the information provided by insurers steers them in a preferred direction, and 65 percent believe the information they receive is difficult to apply to their own situation.

Nearly Three-Quarters of U.S. Companies Expect Their Demand for Middle-Skills Jobs to Increase, Accenture Research Shows
NEW YORK; Nov.10, 2014 – Nearly three-quarters of U.S. companies (73 percent) expect an increase in their demand for “middle-skills” jobs – that generally require more than a high school diploma but less than a four-year degree – over the next few years. At the same time, more than half (56 percent) of those surveyed are struggling to find people with the qualifications to fill existing middle-skills vacancies, according to new research from Accenture (NYSE: ACN).

, Oct. 30, 2014 – There is a new U.S. trend that is winning over Canadian shoppers for having the best deals of the holiday season: Black Friday, the day after U.S. Thanksgiving, according to Accenture’s (NYSE:ACN) 2014 holiday shopping survey. The survey revealed that the traditional Canadian holiday of Boxing Day is losing its prominence among consumers for having the best deals of the season, as the popularity of Black Friday shopping has grown since last year.

Accenture Survey Shows 40 percent of North American Consumers Have Used Smartphones to Make a Merchant Payment, Up from 16 Percent in 2012
NEW YORK; October 29, 2014 – Forty percent of North American consumers have used their smartphones to make a payment at a merchant location, according to an Accenture (NYSE: ACN) survey of 4,000 consumers in the U.S. and Canada, up from 16 percent reported in a similar survey two years ago. Millennials and high-income consumers – household income of at least $150,000 – are the most avid adopters, with 52 percent of millennials and 55 percent of high-income consumers having used their phones as a mobile payment device

Oct.24, 2014 – Eight-out-of-10 citizens surveyed by Accenture (NYSE:ACN) believe expanded use of new and advanced digital tools would improve police services. Specifically, they are comfortable with police officers using: predictive technologies (88 percent), security cameras (83 percent), wearable technologies, such as body-worn cameras, (80 percent) and mobile devices (89 percent).
