Four in Five Consumers Cite Privacy Concerns for Wearable Tech Adoption, According to 2014 State of the Internet of Things Study from Accenture Interactive
CHICAGO; August 21, 2014 – Eighty percent of consumers have privacy concerns with wearable Internet of Things (IoT) connected technologies, according to the 2014 State of the Internet of Things Study. But half of those same consumers said they would be willing to share personal data collected by such devices with third-party retailers when presented with compensation such as a coupon or discount.

2014 State of the Internet of Things Study from Accenture Interactive Predicts 69 Percent of Consumers Will Own an In-Home IoT Device by 2019
CHICAGO; August 19, 2014 – Consumer adoption of network connected technology is on the rise, with 69 percent of consumers planning to buy an in-home device in the next five years, according to the 2014 State of the Internet of Things Study. By the end of next year, a total of about 13 percent of consumers will own an in-home IoT device such as a thermostat or in-home security camera. Currently, only about 4 percent of those surveyed own such a device.

Majority of Parents Say They Will Increase Back-to-School Spending This Year and Most Plan to Shop in a Physical Store, Accenture Survey Finds
NEW YORK; July 29, 2014 – A majority  of parents plan to spend more on their children's back-to-school shopping this year, driven by rising costs or necessity rather than greater spending power, according to a survey released today by Accenture (NYSE:ACN). The Accenture Back-to-School Shopping Survey, which polled U.S. parents of children entering kindergarten through college, shows that nearly all (89 percent) plan to do most of their back-to-school shopping in a physical store, though many will still use online to browse and search – "webrooming."
