Citizens Believe Greater use of Digital Technology can Improve Justice System, New Accenture Survey Shows
ARLINGTON, Va; Dec. 9, 2014 – The majority of citizens surveyed by Accenture in seven countries (69 percent) say the increased use of digital technologies could improve the justice system in their countries. In contrast, the vast majority (87 percent) of those respondents who have interacted with the justice system prior to the survey say they have not experienced any benefits from these technologies as they were not available to them during their interaction.

Utilities Face Significant Revenue Losses from Growth of Solar, Storage and Energy Efficiency, Accenture Research Shows
NEW YORK and LONDON; Dec. 8, 2014 – Continued growth of distributed energy resources and energy efficiency measures could cause significant demand disruption and drive down utilities’ revenues by up to $48 billion a year in the United States and €61 billion a year in Europe by 2025, according to Accenture’s Digitally Enabled Grid research.

Mediocre Performance by a Majority of Sales Representatives Cost Companies 3.2 Percent in Potential Revenue, Accenture Research Shows
NEW YORK; Dec. 4, 2014 – The vast majority of corporate sales representatives are consistently average performers but could boost the competitiveness of companies by generating hundreds of millions of dollars in additional revenue each year for those businesses able to lift their performance even modestly, according to new research from Accenture (NYSE: ACN) and CSO Insights. Today, mediocre performance is costing companies 3.2 percent in potential revenue, but that could be secured through a five percent improvement in sales performance enabled by a combination of enhanced training, technology-enabled sales tools and better use of data and analytics.

Majority of Students Cite Digital Capabilities and Services at Universities as Key Factor in Higher Education Choice, Accenture Survey Finds
ARLINGTON, VA; Nov. 24, 2014 – A large majority of college-bound students (85 percent) said that digital capabilities, such as integration of technology into classrooms, virtual coursework and online classes are a top determinant in choosing which university to attend, according to a five-country survey by Accenture (NYSE:ACN). The survey of 1,500 students in Australia, India, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States found the strong demand for digital capabilities carried over to students currently attending a university as well as recent graduates, with the majority (70 percent) calling for greater use of digital tools for learning and content delivery.

U.K. Consumers Set to Spend More This Christmas; Majority Plan to Shop on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Accenture Study Finds
LONDON; Nov. 24, 2014 – Amid signs of greater economic optimism, almost a third of U.K. consumers (31 percent) plan to increase their spending on holiday shopping his year, according to Accenture’s (NYSE:ACN) 2014 Christmas Shopping Survey. The survey indicates that more than a quarter of consumers (27 percent) are planning to spend £250 or more on Christmas shopping than they did in 2013.

U.S. Consumers Believe Bias Trumps Accuracy When Making Medical Decisions, says Accenture Survey
Chicago; Nov. 12, 2014 – Don’t expect U.S. consumers to look to health insurers as their primary source of information when they have to make medical decisions, a new survey by Accenture (NYSE:ACN) indicates. The survey of 2,003 U.S. consumers showed the majority (69 percent) of the respondents believe that the information provided by insurers steers them in a preferred direction, and 65 percent believe the information they receive is difficult to apply to their own situation.

Nearly Three-Quarters of U.S. Companies Expect Their Demand for Middle-Skills Jobs to Increase, Accenture Research Shows

NEW YORK; Nov.10, 2014 – Nearly three-quarters of U.S. companies (73 percent) expect an increase in their demand for “middle-skills” jobs – that generally require more than a high school diploma but less than a four-year degree – over the next  few years. At the same time, more than half (56 percent) of those surveyed are struggling to find people with the qualifications to fill existing middle-skills vacancies, according to new research from Accenture (NYSE: ACN).
